Fixed term contract, 18 Months, 37 hours per week
Salary – £16,142 pa

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic learner to join the team at MG ALBA in the role of Modern Apprentice. Based within our Operations Department, the postholder will gain work experience covering the entire workflow for broadcast programmes. The postholder will also gain comprehensive training and work experience across the departments and will complete a Modern Apprenticeship to SVQ Level 7 in Creative and Digital Media during the term of their contract.

We are looking for someone who is committed to developing their career in the multimedia creative sector, with a positive approach to work, good communication and interpersonal skills and a passion to learn through workplace experience.

Fluency in spoken Gaelic is required with support given for written competency if required.

Who are we?

MG ALBA, Scotland’s Gaelic Media Service, operates the Gaelic television channel BBC ALBA in partnership with the BBC. We are also responsible for FilmG, in collaboration with Cànan Graphics Studio, and we deliver LearnGaelic in partnership with the BBC, Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig and Bòrd na Ceiltis (Alba).

We have offices in Stornoway and Glasgow, the post will be based in the Stornoway facility.
